The main difference between the two is that the hard guide rail can withstand large cutting force and is mainly used for machine tools over 1.3 meters, which are mainly used for mold processing.

The linear guide rail bears relatively small cutting force, but the guide rail moves quickly, which is mainly used in some small machine tools. For service life, linear guide is much higher than rigid guide.

The sliding contact surface of hard rail is large, with good rigidity, strong anti-seismic capability and strong load bearing capacity. It is suitable for heavy load cutting. Because of the large contact area of the guide rail, the machine tool runs more smoothly, which is suitable for machine tools with higher vibration requirements, such as grinding machines.

The maintenance of the rail is of Paramount importance. If the track is not sufficiently lubricated, it will cause burning of the track or abrasion transition, which are fatal to the precision of the machine tool.

Therefore, as a whole, the application of hard rail is suitable for heavy cutting, large mould, high hardness workpiece, and general precision workpiece.

The assembly of wire and rail is simple, and high quality assembly can be completed with a little training.

And the line rail is not perfect, it is not as stable and rigid as the hard rail, and the transportation and processing environment requirements are higher.
